Property Overview

Unwind in the century old mansion

The Project Café in Goa beats all other expected experiences in the state. It’s an art gallery, shop, collaborative space for artists and a retreat  - all rolled into one. A refreshing break from the other hotels, homestays and resorts, this gives you the opportunity to meet like minded people with an artistic bent of mind. You still have access to the low-key places around the century-old Portuguese home to see a more authentic Goa without the pressure of ticking sightseeing places. Assagaon, where the retreat is addressed, is one of the modern villages of Goa - a newly minted hub for artists, musicians and authors from across the country and world. The atmosphere, not just at the property, but also outside is excellent for being steeped in art and culture.

The rooms are spread over the 150 years old home and the outside section which overlooks a garden. Brightly coloured walls, true-to-its-nature artistic interiors and heartwarming décor make all the rooms unique and characterful. The interesting part about the home is the fact that you practically live with art, which can be bought, be it beds, curios and frames. The swimming pool and in-room spa are additional charms, along with the garden – ideal for getting some sun and unwinding.

The hosts of Project Cafe can help curate day trips in Goa to well-known and offbeat locations of the state.

GOOD TO KNOW

About Rooms

  • There are 6 rooms – 3 within the villa and the others are outside. The ones outside overlook the garden. The inner rooms are best taken as a group.
  • All rooms have a distinctive décor, each designed by a different artist. The artwork in the rooms and the furniture in some cases, is open for guests to buy.
  • The rooms are spacious and airy, and minimalistic.

About F & B Policy

  • Breakfast is included with stay. Mix of Indian and continental breakfast is served but is hugely better than many other hotel buffets.
  • A lounge on the property serves food all day. The menu is simple, but the food is delicious.  ‘Maps of Goa’ by artist, Nidhi Khurana, adorns the walls apart from other art.
